A few years ago, I used to find myself getting fatigued for no real reason at all. I’d come home from work and just pass out on the couch. I was coughing a lot and my stomach and chest were giving me a lot of pain. I went to the doctor and had all these x-rays done and found out that I had actually inhaled asbestos. The next call I made was to a personal injury attorney. I couldn’t believe that I had become a victim of asbestos. My parents had warned me about it and I had read about it in school, but I’d never given it much thought. I literally never thought it could happen to me. I just know it’s from the building I live in. I knew it was a “vintage” building, which meant that it was old, but that was fine by me. The appliances all worked and I had more than enough space. It’s a one-bedroom apartment, but there’s enough room for two people to live there. The closet is like a whole bedroom to itself. I got the rent down to a more reasonable price. So it’s true. Some deals are just too good to be true. And now I have this whole legal battle to get through.
