DAILY SHOTS OF INSULIN
The main thing to remember about diabetes medication and treatment is that people diagnosed with diabetes have to take daily shots of insulin. Other than that, they just have to take care of themselves in mostly the same ways that we do or should. They have to eat right, by which I mean 3 meals a day with lean meats, fruits, vegetables, and grains. No candy, cereal, or anything else overly coated with sugar. They also need to exercise a lot, monitor their blood pressure, check how they’re feeling, not drink excessively, or smoke. These are all general things you’ve probably heard a thousand times before that you should do yourself. It shouldn’t take a health problem like diabetes to force you to start living healthier and feeling better about yourself. There’s nothing wrong with going to the bar and having a few, but you shouldn’t be doing it every night. And, really, you shouldn’t be smoking at all. Even if you do smoke and drink, exercising and eating right both go a long way toward keeping you fit and negating at least some of the negative consequences of your lifestyle if only for a while. You probably don’t need me preaching this to you, but it never hurts to hear it all again.
